Olomouc

This week was great but sadly it was our last week with President McConkie and his family. We had our last training from him on Monday and it was amazing to hear his families testimonies.
We have been doing really well this week with investigators. We have had a ton of lessons and we are working with a few people towards baptism in they next couple of months.
Saturday we went on a branch trip to Teplice and we explored the caves there. It was way cool to see and nice to get out of the blazing sun!
This Sunday our branch had what they call Fat Sunday where we all bring treats and eat them after church and we pick 7 people that we will fast for next Sunday. It was really cool to see the branch coming together to fast for those in need. I don't have a lot of time today cause we went to the zoo and it cut into our emailing time but we got to play with goats and it was pretty sweat. The zoos here are way more open than in America. I could reach out and touch every animal except for the lion and tiger.
Anyways it was a great week and next Monday is transfers so we will see if I stay here or not.

I hope you all have a great week!

Olomouc

We have had a really good week! It seems super short cause we have our pday on a Saturday but we have done some really fun things.
Monday the senior missionaries had their family come and visit so Vlastik (a member here) took all of us to the top of a cathedral.
Then while contacting one day this lady came up to us and said hey I saw you on tv the other day when I was watching volleyball!! Made my day!
Last week we went contacting with a member here and this week he ask if we could go to lunch. While we were at lunch he said that contacting really helped him and he really wants to share the gospel. He even set up a lesson with some girl off the street that he contacted himself. But his family doesn't know that he is a member and he asked if we could help him find a way to tell them and share the gospel with them so that he could be with them for eternity. It was a really cool lesson and it was all because we invited him to go contacting with us. He also took us to a restaurant just full of kittens! It was interesting.
Today we went strawberry picking with some members and it was fun. But I basically just sat in the field and ate strawberries while everyone else picked them. It has been a really good week and we have had a lot of blessings with our investigators. We met with one girl this week that use to meet with the missionaries 9 years ago and we finally found her and set up another lesson with her. She knows the church is true she has just had a hard time with her mom. But it has been great here!

I hope you all have a great week!

Olomouc

Another fantastic week gone by! We are finally settled in our new apartment and it is pretty nice. We now have a back yard so that is pretty cool.

On Wednesday we had exchanges so I was with Elder Cardon. We met a drug lord that had money, cars, women, a huge house everything but he said he felt like he had nothing. So he decided to change his life and give up the life of drugs. We had a really good lesson with him and it was cool to see how even when people have tons of money and things it doesn't mean they are happy but when we taught him about the gospel he felt that joy and happiness. Then we got some of the YSA to go contacting with us and after they realized how hard it is to be a missionary! It was pretty funny.

Friday I had visa work so we went to Prague. President McConkie also wanted to have our interviews. While we were waiting I saw a member from Plzen and she invited us to go into this interview for the Ego Magazine. So we went in and got interviewed by this lady and she asked why we were on missions, how we have seen it help us and others, and what we are going to do after the mission, questions like that. It was a pretty cool interview and turns out she is going to be printing a 6 page article on missionaries in the Czech Republic. Then I had my last interview with President McConkie. It's pretty sad that he has to leave.

On Saturday we had our culture night and there was a concert in the town center so we watched that for a little then we went to the World Grand Prix of womens volleyball!! It was way fun. The Czech Republic was playing Bulgaria, sadly they lost but it was way fun to watch that. Also it was broadcasted on worldwide television and Elder Cardon and I made it on TV!! It was way sick they zoomed on us and everything! After we got to go down on the court and get pictures with all of the players! It was so fun!

Yesterday we tracted in to this old mans house and he answered the door in a speedo. At first he didn't want to talk to us then he realized we were Mormons and said oh I've been to Utah, I love the Mormons! So he invited us to come back next week. Pretty good week!
I hope you all have a great week this week!

Olomouc

I have had a great week here in the Czech Republik! We had a lot going on this week and it has been a lot of fun.
We have had some pretty cool lessons this week and one of them was with a personal trainer at the gym so he has been trying to get us to get a pass to his gym so that he can train us in the mornings. We are actually still considering it for our morning work outs but this week we also had to move so we aren't as close anymore. So we will have to see.
So like I said we had to move. We knew we were moving but we thought we had more time but all of the sudden on Friday during our studies our land lord showed up and starting taking all of our furniture so the next day we had to pack everything up and today we had to move.
One thing that was awesome this week was that I received a call from a member in Plzen. He was a guy that was an investigator and he even accepted a baptismal date but during our 4th lesson he told us he was already a member! We never could find his records because he is from Russia and they said they erased his records. But he called me and said that they finally got his records! They even had to go through the 1st Presidency and everything but they decided to over rule the erased records and he is finally a member again!
This week we also went to Brno for an exchange and it was a lot of fun. I like getting to see other parts of the country. One quote I got today from my little sister is this:
"Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays." I know how strong the power of prayer is and as we sincerely pray to God we will allow Him to change us for the better.
I hope you all have a great week!
